Pittsburgh Water's South Side Flats Sewer Separation Project. .

The $14.8M project is a part of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s consent decree and entails separating the existing combined sanitary system with a standalone storm sewer system to reduce combined sewer overflows from South Side sewersheds within the City of Pittsburgh.

St. Elizabeth's Hospital Tank. .

A major component of the project is a 4,200 ft long 24” water transmission main connecting the new tank to DC Water’s system in the southeast portion of the District of Columbia. Due to the varied terrain, the water transmission main includes air release and blowoff valve vaults and isolation valves. The main also has cathodic protection, consisting of sacrificial anodes, an external coating, and electrical continuity.

HRSD York River Outfall and Diffuser . .

The outfall and diffuser is designed to convey a peak hydraulic flow of 75 MGD.  The existing 48" diameter outfall pipe was extended across the Yorktown Power Station’s (YPS) property approximately 1,500 feet to the bank of the York River and approximately 3,500 feet into the York River to a new 320-foot long, 35-foot deep, multi-port diffuser with 32 diffuser ports.  The new 48" diameter outfall pipe crossed multiple structures on the YPS property including the cooling water canal, ponds, buried utilities, roads, and parking lots.

Dan Beaver Presents at MdQI Conference.

Dan Beaver, from the York/Baltimore office, presented on the Greenmount Avenue Streetscape project at the Maryland Quality Initiative Conference (MdQI) in January. The project won the 2024 MdQI Project of the Year - Under $5 Million.

WRA to Design CCBC Renovation and Expansion.

WRA is designing the Community College of Baltimore County's Automotive Technology Renovation and Expansion. The building, located at the Catonsville campus, will have 4,000 SF of space renovated to increase the number of faculty and staff offices and expand classroom space. A 22,000 SF addition will increase the department's automotive laboratory space to support electric vehicle and emerging technology training.
