Johns Hopkins University Life Design Lab. .
WRA provided program verification, A/E design, and construction phase services in the comprehensive renovation of the 13,000 SF former U.S. Lacrosse Hall of Fame building for reuse as the new Life Design Lab at the Homewood Campus of the Johns Hopkins University. The new center consolidates career design, study abroad, and student employment units in one facility. It also features a global connections classroom, skills lab, café, personal brand management lab, and professional staff offices.

City of Lynchburg's Main Street.
WRA is the lead designer for the City of Lynchburg’s multi-phase construction manager-at-risk project to upgrade underground utility infrastructure while enhancing vehicular, pedestrian, and transit movements through streetscape improvements and traffic facility upgrades. To date three phases have been designed with two having completed construction. Recently, Main Street was converted from one-way traffic to two-way traffic for the first time since 1954.
Sandy Springs Georgia Safety Study. .
To address the high number of accidents occurring in the medical district around Peachtree-Dunwoody and Johnson Ferry roads, the Sandy Springs City Council requested an analyses of crash data and a prioritized list of improvements. There had been an average of 3 accidents per week reported for the previous 5 years.

Restore the Corridor (I-95 Rehabilitation). .
WRA provided overall design services to rehabilitate the mile-long Wilmington Viaduct and 17 other project bridges on I-95 in Wilmington, Delaware, and is currently providing construction support services.
Services Performed
Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center. .
WRA studied options for providing convenient access to restroom facilities in the lobby of the Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center during intermissions for individuals attending performances. The study included a cost-benefit assessment of lobby improvement options to expedite patron access to restroom facilities. Improvement options enhances, supplements, and works integrally with existing facilities. Upon selection of preferred option by the College, WRA provided A/E services in the design and construction of the project.

Each year, Engineering News Record publishes a list of the Top 200 Environmental Firms. Whitman, Requardt and Associates, LLP ranked 164 based on its revenue in 2020. This is up from #176 last year!

WRA Instrumental in New WTS WV Chapter.
Cindy Shamblin and Melissa Thompson, along with the other founding board members of WTS WV, were featured in West Virginia Construction News.
Waterfront Clean-Up.
Baltimore’s Hydrology and Hydraulics Group coordinated a volunteer effort with the Downtown Sailing Center and Baltimore Museum of Industry, and picked up trash along Baltimore’s waterfront this summer. They went sailing afterwards, enjoying the warm temperatures and the Baltimore City skyline from the harbor.

Transit Plan Vision 2045. .
The first task included researching steps to reimage SEPTA’s commuter rail, providing high frequency, through service to the region. The solution was developed in collaboration with stakeholders from the City and SEPTA, based on previous rail service improvement proposals, operational and physical upgrades and incorporating the European high frequency through service model.

Jamestown-Scotland Ferry Featured on WTKR.
WRA provided the drone footage for the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry segment, featured on WTKR's Coast Live. WRA also designed the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry Dolphin Replacement. The ferry is a Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) operated ferry near Williamsburg. WRA studied replacement options for the failure-prone timber berthing dolphins, designed the selected large fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) monopiles, evaluated installation methods, and tested actual energy absorption.
