WRA designed pumping efficiency improvements in an energy performance design-build contract for the Potomac Water Filtration Plant.
The Potomac Water Filtration Plant Energy Performance Contract consisted of upgrading five of the 12 raw water pumps associated with the 600 MGD Raw Water Facilities. The upgrades improve overall wire to water efficiency of the most commonly used raw water pumps. The project saves the owner nearly 6,000,000 kWh annually, resulting in more than $600,000 in estimated annual savings. Higher flow rates will increase these savings.
