ADA Sidewalk Retrofits and New Sidewalk Installations. Takoma Park, Maryland.

WRA initially developed ADA guidelines that combined Montgomery County, Maryland State and Federal standards.

Following the City’s approval of the guidelines, WRA worked with the City’s on-call contractor to advance the design and construction of the pedestrian improvements at locations selected by the City’s DPW Director. This portion of the task included field engineering the pedestrian facility designs, coordination with the adjacent property owners, adhering to the City’s arborist’s requirements, assisting the on-call contractor with the layout of the proposed designs/grades, construction inspection, quantity take-off documentation, and ADA compliance reviews.
