Andy Cooper Receives the Carl John Lauter Award.
Andy Cooper, an Associate in the Water/Wastewater Group, was awarded the Carl John Lauter Award at the 2021 Tri-Association Conference. It is given each year to a member of the Chesapeake Section who has given outstanding service through higher work as an officer, committee chair or committee member.
Andy is an Associate with Whitman Requardt & Associates, LLP and he is a recent Past Chair of the Chesapeake Section of AWWA. With 36 years of experience, Andy has served as Project Manager on a vast number of water and wastewater infrastructure projects in the mid-Atlantic region. He has served clients such as the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC), Howard County, Frederick County, St. Mary’s County Metropolitan Commission (METCOM), and the City of Cumberland, Maryland on projects where he used his expertise in master planning and modeling, water transmission and distribution, water storage, and sewer collection and conveyance. Andy holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and an M.S. in Environmental Engineering.
Andy has been a volunteer with Chesapeake AWWA for over 10 years. He led the Distribution System Committee for many years where he helped spearhead many well-attended seminars. He has also served as a Trustee, Secretary-Treasurer, Chair-Elect, Chair and Past Chair of the Section.
