Prince George's County Bus Stop Improvements. Prince George's County, Maryland.
Prince George’s County assigns stops to WRA for design and quantity estimates that are then used by the County’s on-call contractor for construction. While each site follows ADA requirements, the designs must be adapted to the typography and adjacent land uses. To data WRA has completed design and construction inspection for 192 stops with an additional 60 stops in progress. The task includes evaluating bus stops and determining non-compliant features and then providing a detailed design to achieve ADA compliance for the bus stops and sometimes adjacent pedestrian facilities including curb ramps. Post construction inspection documents ADA compliance and notes where additional improvements may be needed to achieve functional accessibility.
