Annapolis Transit Center. Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
The transit center feasibility study was a preliminary screening exercise and the foundation for the next step as the basis to guide future decisions regarding the location of one or more transit centers in the Parole area.
Conceptual site and architectural plans were drawn for each site accommodating pedestrian, bicycle, vehicle and bus access. One 2,500 square foot building prototype was designed and illustrated at both sites. Conceptual order of magnitude cost estimates were developed. Construction costs at Westfield Mall transit center were estimated at $8.4M, slightly higher than $7.7M for Harry S. Truman Park and Ride transit center.
The study recommended the best locations for a transit center for the greater Annapolis area. The project has progressed to the design and engineering phase.
