Pittsburgh Regional Office Wraps Up Grand Cayman Project.
Lindsey Ulizio and Scott Thompson-Graves had a productive week on Grand Cayman evaluating potential short-term solutions to alleviate growing congestion on the island. This trip was WRA’s sixth to Grand Cayman over the course of the project to develop and apply a Travel Demand Model and Traffic Operational Analysis Model for the island. The visit began with WRA’s presentation of potential improvements to Premier Alden McLaughlin, Jr. and members of the Caucus, and culminated with a helicopter tour of the island to view congestion that has grown since the project began. WRA also met with the Department of Planning and Airport Authority to present and discuss the impacts of potential future scenarios. The National Roads Authority has already begun implementing some of the congestion mitigation measures, like partial roundabout metering. Scott, Lindsey, and team look forward to continuing working with the National Roads Authority on these exciting projects!
