Corridor Planning Study for Planning Commission.
In collaboration with local business owners, transportation agencies, and planning partners, WRA’s York, PA Office recently completed a corridor planning study along Routes 283 and 230 in Lancaster, PA for the Lancaster County Planning Commission and Economic Development Company of Lancaster County. The study took an innovative approach to assess the impacts that land use and zoning have on transportation infrastructure and vice versa. The study resulted in a multitude of land use and zoning strategies in conjunction with multimodal transportation improvements to allow smart, sustainable growth within the Route 283/230 corridor. Most importantly, the study validated that with smarter land use and zoning policies, major capacity adding improvements which take millions of dollars and years of planning could be avoided. This was WRA’s first project working for the Lancaster County Planning Commission. To read the full article, click here.
