City of Baltimore DOT On-Call CMI Services. Baltimore, Maryland.
CMI personnel performed over 40 construction management inspection task assignments for the City’s DOT through two consecutive on-call contracts, a three-year, $3 million contract and three year, $2 million contract.
WRA has provided construction managers for the Resurfacing/Traffic and Roadway Reconstruction Sections who manage an average of four active construction contracts each, which are generally federally-funded, at any given time. They manage the contracts from the preconstruction meeting, monitoring submittals for materials and working drawings, daily field inspections, progress meetings, obtaining design revisions, responding to correspondence and public inquires, conducting final inspections and project closeout. The managers review change order requests for validity, prepare cost estimates, as required, and assist the City in negotiations with the contractor. WRA has provided constructability reviews for BCDOT’s design contracts valued from $1 million to $25 million. Reviews are typically provided at the 65% and 95% design phases. Findings and recommendations are documented in a report provided to the TEC Division for follow-up by the City’s design project manager.
