WRA Instrumental in New WTS WV Chapter.
Cindy Shamblin and Melissa Thompson, along with the other founding board members of WTS WV, were featured in West Virginia Construction News.
Cindy Shamblin, Vice President, helped WRA open the WV Office in 2017. Melissa Thompson, Associate, joined in 2018 to form the CMI group in WV. They recognized the value of WTS International and its mission to “advance women and advance transportation.” Rather than wait for industry to see the need in West Virginia, they stepped up with a group of female professionals, working in the Transportation industry, and were instrumental in the ratification of a WTS International chapter in WV. As Cindy said, “The transportation industry goes beyond just roads and bridges. Now more than ever we need to strengthen the industry in order to look forward to the future." Both are founding WTS-WV Board Members. Cindy is the Events Committee Chair and Melissa is the Secretary of the chapter. Their goal is to bring awareness and support to women in transportation in West Virginia.
