US 301 Wins The Grand Conceptor: $5M and Above.
We are pleased to announce that US 301 Section 1: Norfolk Southern Railroad to SR1 in New Castle County, Delaware won the $5M and above Grand Conceptor Award from ACEC DE.
The US 301, Section 1 project involved collaborative, interdisciplinary design of 5.5 miles of limited-access, all-electronic toll highway on new alignment, one of three design sections that transformed southern New Castle County’s transportation network, improving safety and mobility and supporting commerce while making significant investments in environmental impact avoidance and mitigation. The WRA-lead Section 1 consisted of four construction contracts valued at $168M, incorporating a roundabout-terminal diamond interchange at Jamison Corner Road and a directional interchange with a complex flyover bridge over SR 1 at the project’s northern terminus.
