Presentation at National Library Week Celebration.

To celebrate National Library Week in Washington, D.C., the Director of the Executive Office of the President (EOP) Library invited WRA preservation architect Lonnie Hovey to be the featured speaker of their week of special activities. On Thursday, April 14th, Lonnie provided a presentation taking the audience on a time-traveling, 300-year jaunt through changes seen by the White House neighborhood, and shared with the group tales of murder, battles, and riots that played out in Lafayette Square. The stories and illustrations shared came from research Lonnie completed when writing his book, Lafayette Square. The library staff were thrilled by the turnout for the talk and deemed the event their most successful ever.
