Washington Boulevard Master Plan. Baltimore, Maryland.
To accommodate a growing staff, the Maryland Transportation Administration’s offices were expanded.
This renovation project included performing site surveys to identify requirements for the demolition of existing telephone and network service along with the design for a new network infrastructure for the relocated staff. WRA provided a structured cabling design that spanned five buildings.
The structured cabling system design included identifying locations for work area outlets, specified the sizing and routing of cable trays for horizontal cable distribution and identified the sizing and positioning of equipment racks and termination hardware in the new telecommunications rooms. New backbone cabling was designed to support the addition of new telecommunication rooms and connect them back to the main computer room. The design was phased in order to make use of vacated and swing spaces that allowed for the transition of staff into the newly renovated areas.
