Maintenance Shops. Laurel and Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

Two administration/ vehicle maintenance facilities had obsolete and inefficient mechanical systems that necessitated major system renovations.

A comprehensive renovation project was undertaken at each site to provide new systems consisting of ground source heat pumps, upgraded ventilation and heat recovery.  A new building automation system was installed at each site to provide extensive monitoring and control capability to provide energy efficient operation and remote monitoring.  WRA provided design phase peer review and commissioning during the construction and occupancy phases to support the project, working closely with representatives of the owner, design team and construction team.  WRA performed multiple site visits during construction and led the functional testing process to verify that the new systems were installed and operating according to the design requirements.
